Default Instrument Cluster Illumination color

Hi,
My sister has a 2000 Integra GSR, and she wants to change the illumination color of the instrument cluster.

Can this be done with just changing out the bulbs to colored ones? If so, what type of bulbs does this cluster use, and does anyone know where to purchase colored bulbs?

If colored bulbs aren't made for this, has anyone ever tried that bulb paint made by Vans? Will this work in changing the light color?

One last question, how difficult is it to replace the bulbs? I'm guessing you have to remove the cluster, is it very hard to do in this car?

Thanks
Chris.

Well, in my Chiltons manuel for my Civic, you have to remove the entire gauge cluster. It didn't look hard, but I have no reason to do that yet. As for the paint, not really sure.

I doubt its done by bulbs since they'd burn out. Most likely its LED illumination or something. They sell gauge clusters at different shops.

if its a 3rd gen the gauge cluster is made up of 3 lights
changing the lights will give you the new color you want
they are 194 bulbs i believe
you have to take off the front bezel
then take the screws off the cluster
then you just twish the bulbs and take them out
switch the bulbs then reverse process

i put amber in mines

i changed mine to red bulbs and it looks way better than stock, you just take out the cluster, unhook the three bulbs and replace them with whatever color you want

how hard is it to do? About how long does it take? Is there any risk of screwing up the calibration?

no risk cuz you take out the whole cluster, nothing to do with the needles or anything
takes about a whole 10 minutes

this sounds like a great idea...Where can you buy bulbs from? Do these aftermarket bulb stay bright, i for instance would like bright blue lights to go with my white gsr, when i get the bulb will it dim quick, or burn out quick?

Also can u replace the bulbs of the crusie control, and the stock radio?
