Default Questions B18C1

Hi...

I´m about to buy a Civic Aerodeck 1.8 VTI with the B18C4 engine.
It´s the same as the B18C1 for you guys...
I had a discussion with a friend who drives a Civic with the B18C4 in it.. He said that the C4 is VERY easy, to get out up to 30hp xtra from the engine with simple mods at a low cost..

This are the mods I was thinking of doing...

*Cold air intake
*swap to Type-R camshafts
*Adjustable Cam Gears
*Lighter pulley
*swap manifold
*68mm throttlebody & port matching
*bigger exhaust
and some more juice to the engine...

How many more pony´s could I get with these mods?
Anything I forgotten?

Bare in mind that I´m after a cheap way of getting the most out of the engine...
I have calculated that the costs for these mods will be about $2000..

just throw a $1000 zex nos kit on it, many may look down upon that dicision, but it really is the best money to horsepower ratio that your gonna find.

Just curiouse.....why not go after an RSX? Anyways, Im off topic. You can get a nice dry zex system for under 400 dollars. If your looking for cheap power then sCribes is right. Go that route, otherwise what you stated should give you that 30 that your looking for. Do a search, people ask questions like this in regard to the b18c all the time. Good luck.

Ben

First of all... The RSX is not sold in Europe...
Second.. A NOS system is also going to be installed.
But this was just a question of how easy it is to get a few more horsepower..

the ITR camshafts will be the biggest gain (not comparing to the nitrous). while you have the valve cover off...put in some ITR valve springs and retainers [valves too if you don't mind taking off the head]
