Default Car Insurance!

2001 GSR 2door, salvaged.

im wondering where can i get the cheapest full coverage? ive been checking with places like Farmer's and they said up too 900$ a month!! wtf! the cars gonna be under my dad's name and im 2 driver, plus i had 1 crash back 2-3 years ago. so thats 1pt only. no tickets, all cleared. nbi said around 4-500$ month. wat is going on cuz every1 i know pay 100-200$ month for full coverage, of course my car value is higher than theirs.

should i just put the car name under mine and get liability only? im confident enough that if i get in a crash, it will not be my fault, but im only worried about theft, good theft :naughty: , and bad theft . opinions and options. should i get a very low deductable. i also have never gone through the process of getting insurance by myself so help me out.

Insurance rates have a lot of factors put into them. Any points, age, sex are just a few of them. Some insurance co. also take your credit report into consideration and if you not old enough to have one this could also be hurting you. Then the biggest fact of them all is that you trying to insure a GSR with a salvaged title which makes just that much higher. The salvaged title is most likely the big reason for the high rates.

some insurance places dont offer full coverage for salvage vehicles and the ones that do only pay up to 70% of the value. so should i just get liablity or try for full coverage, b/c i dont want to lose my car and not have any compensation like from theft.

FYI, it is illegal to base insurance rates on factors such as age and sex. Driving experience is used in place of both of those.

age and sex does play a role. younger age then low experience, and girls are cheaper cuz they assume they drive slower. and red paint does not change insurance rate.

Mine is $312.00 a month and that is cheap beacuse i have military insurance. Every other company i went to cost like $800.00 a month. I am 20 and I drive a 2000 gsr.

age and sex are the two major factors in insurance, that's why when you turn 21 your insurance get's cheaper.

I know age makes a difference...hence the HUGE drop when you hit 25. Sex is more problematic... if they cited real research and whatnot, they could probably get away with it... which is, I bet, what they do.

It all depends if you or your dad had any traffic violations. And it depends on your location. If there is a high theift rate on the same car that you have its going to cost more. I'm currently paying $450 a month for full coverage, and I have no traffic violations.
