Default Good price for subs?

Hey,
My friend will sell me two 12" Alpine type R subs in a box for $230.
Is that a good deal? they're only like a month old, and i believe they retail for like 200 each?

you can find them for less than $200 each easily.

what type of box is it? if the box is made for the subs, i say its a good deal. see if you can get them for $200.

Seems like a good deal as long as they are still in good condition, i.e. not damage to the cones, voice coils, etc...

On a side note, never ever try to use retail prices in making a judgement on price. Retail is retail. No one in their right mind who knows how to use a computer should even consider paying retail for car audio unless they have money coming out of their a$$. The best way to determine value of used car audio, in my opinion, is to check ebay. ebay buyers set the price for how much used stuff goes for...

I agree...always search the net before subjecting yourself to having to pay retail prices.
