Default All Motor...keep stock exhaust piping?

i plan to go with a moderately built all motor set up (180-190whp)..if i keep the type-r b-pipe, will i be choking my motor at all? or should i go for a bigger diameter? i plan on going with a more freer flowing muffler so this is only a b-pipe qustion. TIA

No, a fairly stock ITR will have a huge benefit from a 2.5". forget 2.25, not worth the time.

On a stock note though. On H-T.com there's a post about removing the bottleneck from the stock B-pipe. I've seen a handful of cars hit 200whp w/ stock cat-back that way.

If I remember later, I'll look. If you can't find it, drop me a pm.

its really worth it to get a 2.5" b pipe especially if you are going to have a 2.5" collector on the header.

60mm. i'm about where you want to be at right now. Also, it depends if you want to strictly top-end.

the wider the pipe, the faster allocation of the exhaust speed velocity at high rpm, but too wide and the exhaust pulses won't exit in a uniformed manner.

yeah, i was wondering what is the piping diameter for the b-pipe on a stock '01 type R? I'm considering getting the Spoon N1 muffler and keep the stock piping, what do you guys think?

Any info. will help.
