Default Trading my truck for a type R. need used car advice...

i'm going to need someones advice who had experiance about used car sales and knows what their worth. thanks...

I went to a used honda dealer today cuz i wanted to check out a type r they had. i asked the guy if they did trades, and he said ya. he asked what i had... i told him what i had and he said he could probably make a trade, but this was just a salesman, not the owner. he told me to bring my truck by tommorow and he would check it out.
specs on used type r...
2001 Type R, 16k, lowered, wheels, intake, header, exaust. paint looked to be in ok shape with few scratches nothing big. he said they wanted 23,000, which i knew they would never get. (this itr has been sitting on the lot forever.)

My truck specs...
2001 Silverado Regcab V8, 16k, lowered, wheels, intake, header, exaust and about 10g's put into the looks of the truck. it cost about 23,000 new stock.

What kind of a trade do u think the guy would do? im guessing he would probably trade cuz id think my truck would be easier to sell for more

you'll probably get ripped on the trade, try and sell your car yourself. Also you can find Type-R's for cheaper than that sold by owners not used car places.

Finding an ITR at a dealer, you will pay huge $$. If you don't, someone else will. In CA, it might be different, but in New England, that's how it is.

I'd use all those mods against them, they do, afterall, lower the value. Sadly, same with your truck.

well i figured both the cars have mods, so it evens out. i saw a truck kind of like mine there a week ago, now its gone. so hopefully they will see that my truck is easier to sell. someone would have to be stupid to pay 23,ooo for that thing. even though i bet if i said 19 out the door, they'd probably take it

that sucks. I'm sure you can find one, it seems like a lot of people are selling them. Good luck on your quest.

Good luck in your search. Chances are, most of the dealers are going to want to hold out for that kind of price.

Have you tried autotrader.com yet? Just make sure that the B18C5 and correct tranny are still in it when you buy it. The outside of the tranny case should say "limited slip" on it too. Definitly use the mods agains the previous owner. Good luck.
