Default w00t just got my new exhaust.

I just bought 2.25'' flowmaster exhaust, it runs and sounds great.. its a 40 series delta flow flowmaster muffler, i got a muffler tip that looks decent from a friend of mine, the exhaust has a very good low pitch sound, so it doesnt sound all ricery and stuff, also i noticed a better torque range, my car used to have best torque at 3000,3200-6500.. and now it seems like it has best torque at 2500,2600-6200.. i love it. just thought id tell u all

thats cool man. Congrats,I hope you dont mind if i slightly hijack your thread for a sec. I was just wondering...I hate all those weedwacker exhaust systems. What is it that makes those sound like that. Did they just go with a new muffler, are they resonating, or did they poke holes in there muffler (lol). I was just wondering. Those weedwackers give imports a bad name.

I was also looking to go with a flowmaster setup but was unsure what they would sound like since no one that I have ever heard had it. It's good to know that it sounds good and that you torque curve has gone down a bit also becuase I have the same problem with my g2 not getting anything till just about 3k. Oh one last thing g2 are the best :chuckles:

lol......i just posted that for someone yesterday. I know how exhaust works. I just want to know why some sound like crap and some have that deep tone. Maybe its a dum question. I prolly already know the answer anyways. NM. Thanks anyway.

Usually the muffler determines whether an exhaust sounds like crap. However, there are also a few other factors from what I understand. For example, if you just change the muffler and keep the stock piping from the cat on back, you really won't notice as much of a difference versus getting 3" piping + test pipe + straight-through muffler.
