new to honduh (lol) building first hybrid
i'm a long time toyota guy. i myself drive a 76 celica with a 22r (2.4) soon to havea ported and polished 20R head installed, with various engine mods. right now i'm running 14.4 hopefully with the head and new rearend i'll hit 14 flat. but anyway i'm looking to get a honda for cheap transportation and a little more reliable and it seems that this forum's memeber are more into real mods than exhuast and the electric turbo on ebaylol.
to the point. i'm looking to build a hybrid, must be twincam, variable valve timing doesnt matter, i'd actually prefer not to have it.
which is the best flowing of the readily available heads? i'm not goign to buy a type R head there just to damn expencive.
so far i'm looking at a b18 or b20 block and possibly a GSR head. also what kinda computers are you guys running, i'd like to put redline somewhere around 8500 or higher if possible i'd be going into heavy modifications with the head. also what kinda tranny's are you all using, i'll be putting out well over 200 hp, maybee 160 lbs of torque. also what kinda CV's do the guys with high hp use? will integra CV's hold? not used to the cruddy honda CV's... mr2 cv's are good for like 500 lb ft of torque, even with slicks

what you can do is get a gsr head, have it ported, and buy an aftermarket intake manifold (like skunk2, edelbrock, etc)

if you want to go all out on the ecm, get the Aem ems or hondata... pricey
tranny, i have a type R tranny w/ lsd.. my 60 fts are better compared to my old gsr setup. also, what kind of gearing do you prefer, short/long? they differ.

I dunno... seems like it's just me.
Axles wear out... I don't care what those MR2 axles are made of, they'll still wear out on a stock motor... that's why Advance sells them.
As far as the motor is concerned, there's a lot of aftermarket parts for both DOHC VTEC and non-VTEC B-series... I'd go with VTEC tho.
I'd take a b16a head, P&P, ITR valvesprings (or better ones if u choose) and if u want cheap u can do ITR or CTR cams... Or expensive, if you're going N/A I like Skunk2 but there are others out there.
If you're trying to make a lot of power, B-series sleeves suck. definitely good for sub-300hp tho.
