6gen Coupe owners - did car come with (black) fenderwell trim around wheel openings ?
I just recently discovered that the rubber moldings on the door edges were supposed to be 'temporary' (as I put on my new color matched door edge guards recently). I say 'temporary' because: a) I've only seen 2 6th gen coupes with them attached, and b) they come off very easily; I'm guessing they were supposed to be removed during dealer prep.
Now, on to the fenderwell trim - I have the Sat. Silver Metallic paint, but the fenderwell trim is...black. It really stands out badly, IMO, and it makes the gap between the fender and tire seem even bigger than it is.
I don't see it on other 6gen coupes, either (although I saw someone's car on here with what looked like color-matching fenderwell trim (their car was silver, too). But most of the time, I see NO fenderwell trim on the cars around here.
I experimented with taking it off, but it kind of looks like it wasn't a 'prep removal' item - it was designed to be left on the car. So...
Do you have this ugly black trim (cars w/ black paint - no offense) on your coupe ? Or, do you have color-matched trim - or, no trim at all ?
If it came with it, did you remove it or keep it on the car ?
If you took it off, what did you use ? Looks like a job for a razor blade handled VERY carefully & a bottle of Goo-Gone, if you ask me...
Finally - (for any Honda employees doing dealer prep that just might be lurking here - is this supposed to be removed before delivery to customer ? I have a feeling that the prep guy missed a few things on my car - like the door edge guards, for example).
PS: Note that I'm not talking about the dealer accessory "fenderwell guards", which install between the fender & wheelwell cover, and ONLY come in black. This is a rubber / plastic combo (about 1/4" wide) that's fastened only to the outer edge of the wheelwell with adhesive.
Appreciate any responses / thoughts. Yes, I'm being anal about this - cut me a little slack.
Thanks

Person who had car had them and removed them and left all the glue and **** underneath them. Currently, I'm looking to buy mine color-matched in white for my fenderwells and the part on the bumper too. So if anybodys reading this and has any or knows where to get it, tell me please!
my girlfriends 6th gen sedan had some fugly chrome fender well trim on it. I took it off but had to clean up the mess it left behind. It was applied with 3m double sided tape so I had to use some Auto Magic adhesive remover to get it off, it wasn't that big of a deal though. I did it at the same time I took off the ugly tan pinstriping, again using Auto Magic to remove the adhesive left behind.
yeah my car came with the little black trim around the fender wells. you really can't notice it until you get very close to the car, i wanna take it off but i know the paint probably looks alot better under there then the rest of the car so i just left the on. like i said you can't even notice it
