Default home phones... does anybody still use them?

Hey all... just wondering, does anybody still use home phones these days?

Thinking of upgrading the actual home phone to a blue tooth enabled one so i can catch cellphone calls on it as well... but wondering if its even worth it and should just get rid of a homeline altogether.

Well...when was the last time you had to use your land-line phone?

I only have one before it was part of the internet / phone / tv package. If it wasnt for the bundle, I wouldnt have a land-line. But since I do, I use it when I know I will be on long conversations, its more comfortable holding it than my cell. And my housemate uses it for work since she is in a lot of phone conferences.

My gf keeps a land line in case of emergency (asteroid, terrorist attack, zombies, etc) but I'm not sure if she ever really uses it. She also works for qwest, so it costs her next to nothing.

I personally haven't used a land line since forever ago... my fiance likes to use it to call family - cheaper long distance rates... but i'm looking to see if a LD plan on cell phone would be cheaper than house phone+LD plan...

using a cellphone isn't that bothersome for me - but i can see it draining battery life. Using the landline handset to get cell phone calls (via blue tooth while cell phone is charging) sounds reasonable and comfortable i guess...

Havn't had a land line in a long long time.

however having a home bluetooth headset that links to my cell phone would be handy....

Looking to see what's available.
