Default vending machine habit?

If you usually use a vending machine... do you:

1)Make your selection first, then put in exact amount cause you don't truse the machine.

2)Make your selection first, then put in whatever you have that adds up to that ammount, if it goes over thats ok the machine gives change

3)Put in as much change as you have, see what it adds up to then make your selection based on what the machine says you have in change, then get your change after the product is despenced.

4)Other, englighten us.

i started buying snacks n soda from sam's club in bulk cause i snack so dammned much. I'd spend 20 at least per week at a vending machine. but now, i'd spend 20 and that would spen $40 and that would last me for like 2 months or something.

otherwise, why would anybody do anything other than #2??

Most of the time I see the cocky people just toss in the change... like they are too good to count it.

"hey look at me, I have a ton of change and can buy anything in here. It's CHOICE for me!"

I avoid vending machines cause they cost too much. I plan ahead. For example I buy 12 packs of soda at the supermarket which comes out to 25 cents a can. I would take a can or two to school instead of paying $1 or $1.25 for a 20 oz bottle. If I can save $1 a day in a week that is enough for 2-5 gallons of gas.

Same goes for other snacks. Why pay 60-75 cents in the vending when you can get the same thing at Costco for 10-25 cents. Saving a few cents here and there can actually add up to $20 for a tank of gas at the end of the week.

Try it. Some people think that since it comes from a vending machines it taste better cause you pay more for it. Its psychological I think. Its like buying a S2000 for $30K and the same S2000 for $20K. You may feel the S2000 for $30K is better cause you paid more for it. But in reality its the same stuff.

I do the same... buying things in advance... but I go through Atomic Fireballs... instead of paying $3-$5 for a 4 oz. bag of them at the supermarket... I go and buy them for like $6/lb. and get 2 or 3 lbs. of them to last the month...

Oh yeah, and Reese's peanut butter cups... I love those... and instead of paying $0.50-$0.75 for two of 'em, Wal-Mart has their brand of 'em that tastes just as good... for like $2.49 for a bag of 50...
