It all depends on your intake and your exaust. As you stated in an earlier thread, you are used to bigger engines, bigger engines will respond differently than smaller engines to little tweaks, obviously.

In my oppinion, you would benifit more from headers, cat-back, CAI first. You have to get the air out quickly first before you try to shove it in. If you do a TB and leave the exaust, you end up with a bottle neck.

Have you considered a swap yet? There was an article in Sport Compact Car that had a civic hatch running mid 11's with a swap, turbo, and exaust. If you are interested in it, send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll send it to you.

From the sounds of your other post, you are on the right track. My big thing is handling before speed and you sound like you have that covered.

BTW, I'm sorry if I was pissy the other day towards your post. It was a bad day for me and I was posting angry. Shouldn't do that... There is alot if information here and the search button can be your friend.

Good luck and welcome!!

I've heard the TB helps a lot more if you match the intake manifold. Like if you buy a 62mm TB, you machine the intake manifold inlet to 62mm.

I don't think it gives you much power (no more than 5 or so) unless youre FI, or youve got a ported and polished head. But even so, the throttle response should be quicker, and generally big TBs level out the little dip in power just before the vtec changeover. I'm no expert, thats just what I've found out reading up and asking questions.

What you say makes a lot of sense. You would def. have to get the manifold matched, then you would want to open up the intake ports as well. Then you would need a different cam to open the valves a little longer. That's alot of work, but I would think you -could- make some good power in the end. Then if you added a turbo... Then again, you still have to get all that air back out or you can cause some serious damage internally.

My 93 ex has a bored throttle body and a zex #59100 street cam. I have no problems with it, but I can't tell you really how much good it does, because I bought the car from a guy who had already installed it. All I know is that my car is quicker than my 91 integra RS was. Don't know if this helps, but just a little input.

it's pretty much useless unless you are FI and have a different intake manifold. Or unless you have some crazy cam and 12:1 CR
