Default civic hatch stock speaker ???s

i dont know if i should have this question in the 92+ civic forum... or on here... but anyway... i have a 95 civic hatch and i only have the 2 5 inch speakers in the doors... it sounds like crap now that i have 2 12's in the back... is there an area in the back in which 2 more 5 inch speakers can go? or even some 6x9s? i heard a rumor that there may be wires with plugs somewhere in the back to plug in 2 more rear speakers... is this true? i need some help... thanks...

im not too familiar with the civic to answer ur question...

but if you get a good set of front speakers and put an amp to them. you wont need the rear. that is exactly what i am doing.

Use a nice component set up front and definitely amp them. If possible, modify the location up front to acommodate a 6 1/2" mid instead of the 5. That way you'll have a lot more potential for midbass response up front which will in turn compliment your sub setup.

there are wires for rear speakers behind the rear side panels (like where the rear speakers are in 3dr tegs). but putting more speakers behind u wont make your system sound better. just get some quality 6.5" coaxials or components up front with a good size amp, and ull be set

The SI hatch had rear speakers... they were to the sides of the rear seat... below the window. The wires are there, you have to pull the panel off and reach down inside, you'll feel a wire harness and there is a wire with a connector taped to it... those are your speaker wires. You can go to a junk yard and get the panels with the speaker grilles in them and the mounting hardware for the speakers... or try www.hondaautomotiveparts.com, when you search for the parts just be sure to look under a 95 SI hatch, instead of your model... they wont list the proper parts for the lower models.

ok koo thanks guys... your info helped a lot... i am thinking about trying to put some amped 6.5s in the area under the window next to the rear seat... i have an un-used amp in the garage... just not sure where to mount it... im running out of room with my 12s and amp in the back...
