Default Meguiar's Headlight Restoration Kit actually works pretty good

http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+G1900

It has Meguiar's PlastX polish, a buffing pad for your drill, and a terry cloth.

I had been seeing commercials for this on Speed channel for a while and they got me to thinking. I realized even though my car's not too old it does have some fogging of the headlight lenses so I picked it up for 20 bucks at Wally World. I'm not much of a car detailing guy but this seemed like it could be useful.

I couldn't quite gauge the results as I was doing it, seemed clearer but wasn't sure. So I took before/after pictures for comparison's sake. Looks like it actually worked pretty well!

After

If you're more of a detailing person and already have a buff-ball type thing and terry cloths then you can just get the PlastX polish for like 8 bucks. Took maybe 15 minutes total.

Ya, mines need to be done. It would get hazy after a couple months. Maybe it needs some kinda wax over it or something.

will said it, you HAVE to protect the bare surface. the plastic is exposed to everything now that you strippped all of its protective coatings off.

any "last step polish" (LSP) that contains UV inhibitors.

theres a lot of stuff on the market, but if u're looking at stuff at ur local autoparts store, mother's synwax or meguiar's nxt 2.0
