Default Top 5: Weight

So... curious:

What are the top 5 things you would do ((within your budget)) to lower the weight of your RSX?

I'm still thinking about my list.

I would never do anything too extreme to such a beautiful car. Meaning no ripping out the interior, no one peice fiberglass bodies or front-ends.

Heres my list even though most of it won't be done for a long time if at all:

1) CF hood
2) lightweight wheels
3) take out spare tire
4) take out subwoofer
5) take out any people in the car that aren't necessary

Har har...

Let's see, my list:

1. CF hood. This seems obvious.
2. Remove the backseats. It's not like a normal sized human can sit back there anyway. Problem is, making it look good on a hatchback.
3. Lighter wheels. Again, pretty obvious, but lightweight wheels and good looking wheels seem to be mutually exclusive. Any sugestions?
4. This one would be "Remove spare tire." But either mine is invisible, or I just don't have one. So, I'll have to go with racing seats. Uncomfortable as hell, and nowhere near as good looking as the stock seats for the RSX, but it's an option.

Still working on my list obviously... I can't think of a 5th thing yet because like honda_pilot, I can't see myself doing any drastic body work on a car that's so good looking with the stock frame.

Why would you remove stock RSX seats? They are not power seat so theres no motors incorporated so hence they don't weight much, the only think that adds weight is the side airbag and its not too much.

Plus why would you want to get rid of a side airbag???:dunno:

Just get the RSX seats stitched in red...

Lowering your unsprung weight will do more good than anything thing else. Light weight forged rims (lots of money) keep the biggest part of the rims in the center. Light weight tires (more money) Work on reducing suspension weight. Then follow up with all the other stuff.
