Default Short ram... blocking out the heat?

Has anyone on this board made a box around the filter so it blocks out most of the heat and draws it from where a CAI would normally? I would like to know some tips on what to use to make one, how to brace it and so forth.. h:

If your air filter is far enough to the left (i.e. towards the passenger side corner light) you can run a piece of dryer ducting from behind the bumper up through the intake resonator hole. Then you take a peice of thin sheet metal, cut a slot out of it for the intake pipe to fit into (once its on, you can put another small peice of sheet metal over the part of the slot thats in the open), bolt it to whatever holes you can find or choose to drill, and bend it around the filter. Just spend some time fitting and shaping everything so that its close to the hood when closed, and there arent many passages for hot engine-bay air to get in. There you have it.... $20 cold air induction/heat shield. Getto style:exnbp:

P.S. If you don't know where to find sheet metal, or want it to be super getto, you can use old license plates or cut up old gasoline cans or whatever.
