Default CTR Replica headlamps

i have some spare time and a set of stock headlights lying in the garage so i feel like making some really good CTR replicas.. the ones i made that are on my car are okay, but the housing paint i used is too dark and i painted the turn signal reflector so the blinker is hard to see

okay so for the Really super good CTR replicas.. wut kind of paint should i use? somebody on here used duplicolor gunmetal paint which really achieved the look i want to get.. but don't i have to use high temperature paint??

also, i might remove the silver reflector thing in front of the bulb since the CTR lamps don't have it.. any suggestions?

no city light bulb holes, i don't want the headlamps fogging so i decided to not do these

also, some people said that the CTR lamp housing have a slight tint to them? so i might spray a few coats of tint on the outer glass housing.. not a lot.. just enough to be noticeable

sorry for the long post, all comments/suggestions welcome

You don't need high temp paint at all. I would just use duplicolor. it doesn't really matter what you do, they are going to look nothing like CTR headlights. My advise to you is just get some duplicolor, just take your time when you do it.

i used duplicolor gunmetal paint on mine and put a couple layers of high temp clear coat just to make it a little glossy. i also masked off the area behind the turn signal. i think they turned out pretty decent, but it is true, they won't look nething like ctr lights cuz they are still chrome, just slighty tinted. here is a pic of mine.

just buy a can of window tint model paint and tint the chrome, therefor it looks like a black crome, which looks pretty close to CTR headlamps. and i say leave the amber and tint it. thats what i did and it looks nicer in my opinion.

I painted mine with gunmetal too, look in the DIY as CTR 6th Gen headlights, and you can see how they turned out.
