P72 vs. P28 for my JDM B16A
Hey guys, I'm new to engine tech so take it easy on me 
I recently bought a 93 CX with a 2nd gen JDM B16A. It's running a OBD1 GSR P72 ECU and some people told me it would run better if I used a chipped P28. I'm not too good at this engine stuff. Can somebody give me some pointers?

Are you getting an IAB code witht he P72? Anyway, if you switch to a P28, chipped or otherwise, it won't be able to read the knock sensor. I would keep the P72, since they're getting pretty rare, unless you want to sell it, make a couple bucks, and get a P28. I wouldn't really want to run without a knock sensor unless you have your fuel and timing maps perfectly tuned(like with a standalone). Anyway, since your P72 is OBD-I, you can get that chipped if you want, or get Hondata S100 and get it tuned.

What's an ISB code? I'm not getting any CEL's right now, but the only thing I'm worried about is that VTEC kicks in too early (I think?) on this ECU. I don't really have money for a VAFC to bring the VTEC activation point back up.

if u run a p72 on a single runner motor, it shouldnt through a cel. i like the p28 better cuz it doesnt check for the knock sensor (one less wire to worry about 
h: ) i bought a socketed p28 with 3 programs (stock p30, skunk2, mugen) for $225. u can easily sell ur p72 for 200-250
