i live in hot ass arizona, my car has alot of miles on it, hott hott summer is comin is it ok to go up in wieght from 10-30w to 10-40 weight? i use valvoline high milage oil???
i have a 90-91 b18a i am puttin in 92-93 cam shafts, aftermarket cam gears and a fpr. what else should i change or have done? change the gaskets and adjust timing??? anything else?

 

10-40 is ok, thats what i use, i just use reg valvoline not high mileage though, i guess you may want to use high mileage if you have a load of miles.... Valve adjustment if its been 30k since its been done, will need to replace valve cover gasket there.. o and plenty of radiator fluid.

 

I see no value in any of the mods you're doing. Skip the FPR for sure, and the '92-'93 cams are such a minor difference as to be not worth it.

 

even if im getting the cam shafts for free? surely there must be some use in tuning the cam gears?
