Looking to buy a used '02 RSX base. I have to sell my 2000 Jeep Cherokee first, but it shouldn't be too hard. I really want a type-s, but the extra 3 grand will kill me. My local dealer has service department cars that they get to sell every once in awhile. He has one about to go on the lot for $17,900 w/ 11k miles, it also comes certified. If figure I could get him close to $16k. Would this be a good deal, if not what is and wheres the best place to look?

Whats the 0 - 60 in a base RSX 5-speed?

0-60 on the base 5 speed should be from about 7.5-8.1, depending on driver and conditions.

16k sounds like a great deal, but why not the Type-S?

 

You can definetly find a Type-S for that price. I know in the NY metro area, RSX's are not selling and they are giving them away, especially used. I would look around since there is a big performance difference between the base RSX and the Type-S.

 

I can't find any used type -s cars around here or anywhere reasonable. Its hard enought to find a base used.

 

Make sure it doesn't suck.

Make sure it is Acura Certified if your buying it through a dealership. If through a private party, have a mechanic check it out.
