coil over clunking and squeeking
Hey kids...
Just wanted to know what you guys do about the strange sounds that come from your coil-overs when it gets cold? There are several different sounds coming from the rear... from clunking, to creaking and squeeking.
Is there anywhere I should lube up? Bushings, or the seats of the coilovers? I have also heard about coating the top section of the springs with rubber to subdue the "clunk" noise when gong over bumps...
Any insight?

rapping the spring with rubber only helps with a progressive spring where they wind closer together towards the top. As for stopping I don't know but I'm sure someone else will be able to help you.
I think it might be the rubber o-rings are out of adjustment on the shock. I have ground contols and I am switching to the eibach pro kit this weekend because mine were doing the same thing. You should take your suspension apart and check to see if thats what it is.
im not sure but mine makes the same sound and i have a feeling its the bushings in the camber arm doing it- mine seemed to start after i dropped the lower perch on the konis another notch for a lil extra drop?? but still only does it when the weather is cold
maybe its actually inside the shocks are you guys running yellow konis too??
