Alpine rep stopped by my place friday
...and dropped off some new toys for me to demo for the upcomming season. I guess word got out that I pulled the car from active competition early for another rebuild. There was a bunch of stuff still in the trunk I didnt get to unpack for the pictures dvd changer, amps, and some protoype processors they want my opinion on. I was just laying out the in-dash stuff, I think that is all Im going to use from them, some of it I already had in the car. So now I got spares for competition.

I reccomend Alpine electronics and source units over pretty much anything out there. I just dont reccomend thier speakers, amps, or subs. For the price of them you can buy something better.
Ive been sponsored by Alpine for several years now and a huge fan of thier multimedia products, and F1 Status line. When building a system piece by piece based on the "best of the best" components, mine typically start with Alpine source units.
They sent me a special modified IVA-C801 that I swapped out today with my IVA-C800. Wow the change in SQ was noticible, without a prior audition of the 800.
Im very impressed and I hope they dont ask for it back. The rep just said "hang on to it and try it out, lemme know if you like it, we tinkered with that unit a little knowing you just arent happy with things out of the box".
Also notice I didnt mention the rep dropping off any speakers (subs or components), knowing that no way in hell am I going to change out my Dynaudios and IDMAXs for Alpines.
Even the reps likes to audition the current system in the shop, we lock him in the car and turn off all the bay lights os there is total darkness except for the dash lights and radio display. The imaging and staging right now is so incredible. To give a demostration of the realism we turn off every light and cover the displays in the vehicle so they sit it complete darkness. That is when people have a tendency to try and reach forward as if they think they can actually touch the performer or grasp an instrument.
mmmm Michelle Branch..... must touch......

OK Pete, that's 10 gun pics. So about 10-20 Sig Girl pics are fair right? :naughty:
Anyways those are about 2-3 years old. I gotta get my new gun pics scanned in, like my daily James Bond gear
and the "Urban Tactical Excursion Assault Weapons" I keep in the cars.
