Kinda old news, just kept neglecting to post.

A gnarly typhoon ran through Manila last week. Lots of flooding, death, etc.

My cousin had to swim home from school

sadly its the way of the world, survival of the fittest. it really sucks to see this stuff because you know people are losing everything and dying but it's a cycle thats seem in every aspect of life be it plant animal or human :hs:

hope your family kicks it out dom and comes through

Yeah I talked with my mom last week, she's ok. I'm more worried about my aunts and cousins in the metropolitan area, since that place got hit the hardest. As far as I know they are just fine. I wish there was something more I can do aside from donate money (can't really trust anyone with that).

i hear ya, we deliver extra stuff to the PI but it takes months! you hardly know where your donation goes to half of the time.

in the human world privilege generally is equal to the fittest

think the animal world, the best fed, best sheltered, best trained cubs often come out alive and the next leader. it's the same in the human world but we call the best bet, the best sheltered and the best trained the 'privileged'

but this detracts from doms mom so i digress

on a side note, i'm always leery of donating to these 'organizations' because they never really say where the money goes. personally dom, if it was me and i had close family like that living there i would either directly send them money or i would send them care packages of things i know they need. directly to them. not through an organization. this is YOUR family, screw going to the organization and helping everyone, help your immediate family directly first. its going to go a lot farther
