Default n2o thingy for cooling intercooler

am i right in assuming that the little n2o sprayer things in front of intercoolers are to cool the intake charge of air rushing through the intercooler?
if so i was just wondering if these things are on the market yet or if they are just custom setups. how much would something like that be?
ive seen in some magazines that they are becoming more popular on the high hp turbo cars, how does it work?

N2o works by making the air going into your motor much, much colder there by much, much dense, allowing it to burn much, much, more fuel, basically it does the same thing on the intercooler by cooling the intake charge from the turbo. So now your getting much cooler air being forced into the motor, cool huh.

Are you thinking of the system used on cars like the Mitsubishi EVO that spray water on the intercooler to help dissipate heat?

We sell the Nitrous Express NTercooler kit at my shop for $399. You can adjust the shot just lke your normal nitrous kit. Works jsut like 92b16vx said. Good extra punch in my opinion, but I would rather spend $400 on a Greddy Profec B boost contoller and Fuel reg, IMO.

Lady's and gentlemen this friday and this friday only at Northwood colesium...TUNING,TUNING,TUNING.It is all about tuning that motor to run in harmony what all the equipment bolt to or in it.You can acheive much better results from tuning, than piling more crap for your poor motor to bear the brunt of,on it.

I think he's talking about an intercooler fogger system. They used it on the Skyline on Super Street a while back.

It's like an FMIC spraybar, but it sprays nitrous or CO2 instead of water to cool the IC:

For supercharged or turbo applications where nitrous is not an option, NX offers another alternative, the “N-tercooler”. Using either nitrous or CO2 this unit can reduce air inlet temperatures dramatically. In a recent dyno test, a turbocharged Honda, equipped with an NX “N-tercooler ”, increased its baseline by an astounding 52 horsepower! If it makes horsepower, it must be Nitrous Express!

No truer words could have been spoken. Tuning if the life of your engine. Also, i'd rather have a 35 shot to cool the intake charge than the gimmicy Ntercooler.

Seems like a bit of a waste of n2o to spray it on the outside of the intercooler.

IF you're going to be using volatile chemicals, why not try and run some plain old liquid nitrogen? You can get a 5-gallon drum from medical supply places for like thirty bucks.
