this is an On-Topic thread. basically religion vs. non-religious. homo vs. hetero. republican vs. democratic. these kinds of debates/arguments will never come to a fucking agreement.


that being said, im not for gay marriages, but at the same time im not going to go out of my way to vote for it either. i have my personal beliefs on this and regardless of how the current government and society views/accepts/disregards this subject, im sticking to my beliefs.

p.s. - LT is a homo.

 

I think it's detestable to differentiate between gay marriage and straight marriage in a society where there is, or at least is said to be, a separate of church and state affairs. I think what our government should do is abolish "marriage" licenses all together in favor of a uniform and unilaterally applicable "union" licenses that do not imply marriage. If Christians wish to be "married" they can take that up with their own church, as they continually contend that "marriage" has religious implications.

 

marriage is a church thing. seperation between churtch and state. if they want a legal government union, thats fine. but cant call it marriage. imo.

 

if thats the case, the gov't shouldn't be allowed to call it a "marriage" certificate.

I'm with this guy. I was having a similar internal dialogue with myself on a long drive today. Committed relationships > boy/girl 'marriages'.
