Default My CAI is gettin HOOOOT

sup guys, i had my Injen CAI for about 4 months and I noticed one day when i touched the piping, it was HOT. Is it because the pipe is next to the engine? What could I do to prevent this?

It's metal, metal gets hot. The iceman intake is plastic i believe, therefor it doest get as hot.

an AEM intake would never be hot on you

Only maybe mild at best.

yeah, the iceman intake is plastic so it doesn't transfer heat away from the air going into your engine like a metal one would. metal transfers heat. that's why your intake is hot. that is a good thing.

Like all of the others said, everything will get hot under the hood. If you are really concerned about that heat, you can get the heat wrapping and wrap it around your intake. It will not make much of a difference so don't be suprised if you do not feel a difference.
