More Power to Components..Possible?
I have a question that I thought of while blasting my system. I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-740MP which puts out 50x4 MOSFET amp BS whatever(which the head unit power I am not using). I also have an Alpine 400x4 watt amp running my Pioneer 6x9s and 6 1/2"s 3 ways. I was wondering if it is possible to take the power from the head unit, and "bridge" it in with the additional 100 watts per component and make it 150 per component. Well lemme know what I can do, if not, I am happy with the way my system sounds N E way.
THanks

an alpine 400x4?? u must mean 40x4...
I get what you are talking about, and no you cannot do it... would cause major problems, probably end up ruining both amps. If you want more power, just get a bigger 4 channel amp... the US Acoustics amps Crutchfield sells are great for the money.

Bridging your deck will lead to the death of it - atleast the on-board amp. If you want more power, do what SumAccordGuy94 said and just buy a bigger amp.
But are your speakers even worth the extra power??? Maybe you should look into better speakers....

I honestly don't think youll hear much of a difference between 100 and 150 watts. It generally takes twice the power to make a 3db increase that is noticable but not a great difference. Save up your money and do it right. Otherwise you might end up selling the amp and buying another and wasting more money. I wouldn't bridge the deck amp they are not meant to run like that.
Profile amps suck horribly! If you want quality, stay away from the pawn shop. Profile and clean power do not belong in the samem sentence period! But then again, if you have never heard quality, then sure profile will sound nice. But if you have taste and care about your sound/amount of distortion, you don't get crap like this...there's a reason they're so cheap. Dollar a watt....now you're on the right track to get better quality equipment.
