Default What's the best short ram intake

Alright Im pretty sure this has been discussed over 1,000,000,000 times already, but lets do it again ....What is the best Short ram intake on the market for a BASE RSX...Injen, or AEM? dont think DC has a short ram out yet........The reason I want a short ram is because i am a lazya$$ and willing to sacrifice 2-3 HP, so I wont have to tear apart the $%$#ing car just to clean the filter even if it is every 6 months

I have the AEM-SRI and the only times I have had any affect by heat has been on really hot summer days. This usually after the car has been sitting idling in long traffic lines. Once we get moving it seems to be okay.

IMO i would say the INJEN, its dyno proven to make more hp than the AEM SRI, and the same if not VERY close to the same as the AEM CAI. Its the best and costs more than the AEM, YES, but it makes more hp. http://performance.clubrsx.com/intaketest2.html

I have an Injen intake and I would say the AEM CAI is not any better. In fact, I raced an RSX Tpe S with just an AEM CAI when I had just the Injen SRI, and he was no faster than I was. The fact that I scored it for $150 on ebay was a plus too.

Lol, that was great fun playing with the big bad AEM CAI RSX. Im sure he felt bad getting beaten a few times by the Little old Injen SRI. Its all about how you drive your car. Unless your at a high speed, ram air dont do **** for ya. If you read the article on Hondata about how much underhood heat really effects hp, you would see that it a 10deg. drop in underhood heat isnt gonna make you much hp. Now 10deg diff in your intake manifolds temp will make you a few hp. http://www.hondata.com/heatshield.html for every 10deg C you drop you get approx 3% more power. Im not gonna do the math but you can figure out that the CAI isnt worth it IMO

Best bang for the buck? AEM SRI.

Dyno sheets don't lie, the AEM SRI is inferior to the Injen SRI, that heat shield it comes with does in fact make a slight difference.

When you want the best, no one ever said it was gonna be cheap. If you want the best you may have to pay a little extra but you know that your gonna get the most out of the product when it comes to the AEM SRI vs. Injen SRI.

Default May be a stupid question

OK this may be a stupid question but I want to be sure, I just bought the Injen SRI and did not by a bypass valve yet. Is one needed since this is a SRI, also if it's not needed is there a difference in having one or not.

No need for a bypass valve with the Injen SRI, but make sure to install that heat shield or the intake won't give you optimal gains
