Default How much power are you pushing!?

Right now, my frt. speakers are running about 45W x 2 = 90W and my sub receives about 120W. Total power is about 210W w/ no rear speakers to account for... because they're not there. Out of desperation + $, I have a weak MTX amp but, I'm saving for a PG amp(s).

as of right now i am running 50x4 on my kendwood HU and in about a week or two (whenever delivery comes) i will be pushing a 2400 watt amp on two 12's and will eventually become 3 to optimally use all of the power from the amp.

Right now, my fronts are getting 50 watts rms each, rears are getting the same, and my subs are getting 75watts rms each(2 subs) so grand total 350 watts rms. I need to upgrade either my fronts(just got Kenwood XR600's) or get a more powerful amp for them. My 6x9's are getting the same amount of power but they are twice as loud, im thinking the sensitivity rating of the fronts is too low, meaning they aren't as efficient as my 6x9's are. I should have paid attention to this, but I was in a hurry and didn't Don't get me wrong, they xr600's sound good, but my 6x9's can easily overpower them in all aspects of sound reproduction. My 6x9's are Polk Audio EXII, and fronts are Kenwood DualMag KFC-XR600.

SQ has little to do with power nowadays...I haven't had the chance to review the latest rules for IASCA's next season, but I think they have dropped power classes in some of the local and regional shows.

The only need for power in an SQ car is to hit the SPL cap of 130dB....past that it's all about install, not power. There were some people lobbying for the removal of the SPL section on the score sheet as well.

Right now? Stock

Plans? New HU with Infinity Ref Comps front and rear with, hopefully, 65-75watts each. If my alternator can handle it I'll be hooking up 2 400watt amps to 2 MTX 8000 12"s subs. If the alternator can't handle it... then just one.

I know....just making a point that it doesn't take a whole lot of power to have a sweet sounding system.
