Not very much details and specifics to go on here..... If you trust your friend, then go for it....

I say good for it, especially if you trust your friend. A good amp and good sub with a nice enclosure for $150 aint bad either way.

probably the type s subs? if they are in good condition, $150 is not a bad price at all.

have you listened to it in his car? you like the bandpass box with that amp? if so, there you go.

Like WiLL said, listen to it first... if you can. Some people like tighter bass... bandpass boxes make the bass a bit more "loose" and a bit more "boomy". If you listen to hip/hop and rap... bandpass would probably be better... but most other things would do better with either a ported or a sealed enclosure. Sealed giving the "tight" bass with quicker responce times. Ported is in the middle.

Of course, some people can't tell the difference between any of the common 3 types of boxes... in which case... go for it!
