Default Wanna start shooting photos v.borrowed a DSLR

So, I'm sure I've mentioned before that my wife shoots professionally (or used to anyway). Since I've been wanting to learn to shoot, and since we've been debating getting a DSLR, so I borrowed a friend's Cannon EOS 20D. So far, I love the camera. Gonna download the manual today so that I can read up on settings etc.

Anybody else shoot w/ this body? Any sites w/ tips on shooting? I find it relaxing so far and look forward to learning more. I will upload what i've shot so far to my site later tonight :hs:

It's addicting. First thing you need to do is read the manual like 5 times. Then read up to get a better understanding of how the aperture and shutterspeed and white balance and iso settings affect different shots.

Then so shoot shoot shoot.

I just picked it up as a hobby and I've come to the realization that it gets expensive VERY quickly.

20d is a great body, too much of a camera to start out with. i would start with something lower like a xti, xt, or xs.

i shoot semi pro, and have a xti. its all about the glass, the only down fall that i have on my xti is that its not full frame other wise then that its perfect for me.

here is a link to my port
