Default What to look for in a blown amp?

I posted up a thread a couple of days ago regarding my amp that just stopped working. I took the cover of my amp off to see if there was any obvious damages but there's none. For those who worked with blown amps, what should i be looking for? Is there suppose to be some burnt spots? Remember i didn't hear any pop or anything when the amp went out. Thanks!

I dont know if its good or not to take the cover off of the amp.

Either way, test all the channels to see if they are working. Test them out with different speakers also. Another thing, smell the amp, if it has a different smell to it, almost like a burnt smell but not quite, then the amp could be done.
