Default D15B7 Swap with D15Z1 What will I need?

I want to swap D15B7 with D15Z1 engine in my 93 civic hatchback, can anyone tell me what extra parts will I need (connectors, hoses, clamps, bolts, etc) or is it a direct drop and roll? Thank you.

Should pretty much be a straight in drop. Make sure to get the harness and ECU from the Z1 though cause I'm pretty sure the B7 aint a VTEC motor and the Z1 is.

However...why do you wanna do the swap? do you just have a Z1 laying around? I just dont get why a Z1, if you're gonna take the time to swap motors. might aswell go for the better D16Y8.

Thank you for your reply, I want to do the swap strictly for mpg at this time (drive about 500 miles per week). When time comes I'll put something meaningfull into this car.

Alright, I understand.

well, if you really want to improve your gas mileage, try and grab the B6 transmission. I used to have a 1991 CRX Hf with a D15B6.

You could probably keep the motor you have now, and for the cost of a swap rebuild it to make sure its running 100% perfectly. then get the transmission off of a D15B6 if you can find one.

I was doing 80 MPH at roughly 2600rpm.

only problem with it is that if I'm going around a corner, 2nd gear is too low, and 1st gear is too high. the difference between ratio's is insane on that transmission.

1st and 2nd are vastly different and 2nd lasts forever, 3rd is sorta tall. then 4th and 5th are really just little reduction gears to drop that extra 400 RPM's.

but gas mileage is highly Dependant on your transmission so if you can get a good strong engine to turn that tranny you'll probably get up in the 40+ MPG's.

I dont recommend a D15B6 however. It's a non-vtec motor with the performance of a hamster. the way the block is, you couldnt even put a VTEC head on it if you wanted to. It doesnt have the valve relief on the pistons. regardless, if you could find its transmission. you'd be golden

or..if you can just find a 89-91 CRX Hf with a motor that doesnt blow smoke like mine did (it needed a rebuild bad) then yay amazing MPG's
