is it worth it to swap in a b16 into a ek hatch?
i have a 2000 hatch and want to maintain legality.. so, that would mean i need a 00+ engine.. would a b16 off a 00 si be worth it? or should i save up and get the b18c1 off a 00 gsr

If it was me, I wouldn't do it. I would save up for the GSR, or even go H22...Hell even just a plain ol b20 would be quicker than a b16. Remember, you only weigh about 250 lbs less than an SI coupe, so you won't be much faster than one.
