seeing as how i'll be deploying there in january some time i'd like to know what there is to do. i'll mostly in okinawa but tokyo isnt out of the question on the weekends. i've heard of the red light district. :uhhok: so what else is there?

and if anyone's been to thailand, phillipines, south korea, malaysia, indonesia, or australia, recommendations are welcome too.

my friend served in japan during his time in the marines. i have only been narita airport. they will tell you the rules when you get over there. like stay out of hiroshima on the anniverasy of the bombing h:

 

thailand is a cheap place to eat and have "fun"

 

if you stop by s.korea just hit up seoul. its madness there

 

 

Just an FYI, the Japanese don't like Marines/US Armed Forces over there, so don't wear your uniform when you are off duty h:

okinawa is the very southern part of Japan. the japanese dont really consider them japanese as okinawan culture differs. there's a big chinese and asian population down there also. i heard it is very nice and warm in okinawa. pretty much like hawaii.

there are red light districts in kyoto, osaka and tokyo....but the "good" places do not cater to "gaijins" (foreigners). you'll still find some places to hit up.

hong kong is a good place to visit if you havent been to. it should be about a 5 hour flight from japan.
