Default rear speakers

Can someone recommend speakers that produce more low end? I'm not interested in changing/modifying anything other than the rear speakers. Is there a drop in product that works well?

Thanks in advance.

changing just the speakers in a Bose system is really opening a can of worms... it leads to one thing after the next. The Bose speakers run at 2 ohms... most aftermarket car speakers run at 4 ohms... so essentially the new speakers will end up getting half the power the 2 ohm Bose speakers were getting, thus making them not perform very well, and they will be much quieter than the front speakers.

If you just want to add some low end, get an Infinity Basslink, they are kinda pricey at $400... but they are sooo easy to install, and they really do sound good... there is a total of 6 wire connections to make... 2 (+ & -) to each rear speaker, a power wire to the battery (which I believe is supplied with the unit) and a good ground. The unit senses the audio signal from the speakers and automatically turns on.

Great unit!

Is the Basslink a self-amplified speaker? Does it drop in to the rear shelf?
Thank you,

Here is an Infinity Basslink, its a trunk-mounted enclosed subwoofer with a built in amp. Its really small in size (less than a cubic foot) and actually puts out satisfying bass for most applications. Its not going to rattle your mirrors off, but im sure in your case, thats not an objective.

good suggestion on the basslink.

Friend has one installed in his base RSX and the bass SQ is quite surprisingly accurate... as per SPL well as you said it wont shake the hairpiece off of a person

But once again another victim of a Boseified car... I dont know what marketing magic Bose has to have top luxary cars be fitted with these gawd awful paperconed speakers.

didnt mean to whore :fawk:

Hey... nothing wrong with whoring... im gonna whore it too!!

Yeah, bose really sucks... no highs... no bass...

Its funny too, they charge like $1000 for a stereo like that... and you can go to www.acuraautomotiveparts.net and get the speakers there for like $8 a piece! They are made for even cheaper than that... probably costs Bose like $.20 to make one of those speakers! Its ridiculous! Their home speakers are the same damn thing!
