It's hard to make a judgement call without knowing all the details. But it sounds like the homeowner was totally justified in using deadly force. What's he going to do? Find out if the burgler is a minor or if he has a gun before he fires? They way I see it, if someone hucks a rock through your window and sticks their arm in to open the door, they're asking to get shot. The homeowner's just lucky he's in Kentucky. Many other states would have nailed him to the wall for this.
