On the way up to the lake today a mother deer and her fawn were bailing across the road at the same time I was coming down the road. Apparently mom had seen this scenario before and stopped before she hit the asphalt...baby on the other hand was in full stride on asphalt as it skidded into my truck and under it. I slam on the brakes but am still rolling and pull over to make sure the deer either got away or to put it out of it's misery if it was suffering. My buddy behind me was laughing because apparently the deer hit the side of my truck while skidding on it's hind legs (should have seen the look on it's face :chuckles then slid under the truck and passed under the rear axle and ran off into the woods.

It was one of those times I wish I had 24 hour video running on my life because it really was a funny situation h:

None at all but there is a clean spot on the door where the deer bumped it's face as it slid under.

I was planning on grilling it if it had to be put out but alas it ran away.

My kids asked me what I would have done had I needed to put it out and I told em I would have gutted, skinned and strung it up for lunch instead of the burgers we grilled.
