Selling things on Ebay
Hello everyone,
I was looking to sell a couple video cards i came upon and was going to do it on ebay. A friend of mine was like you'll get more money if you leave the auction on for a week and if you sell it on a specific date and time. Anybody has any idea what he's talking about.
Thanks

Longer auction time = more time for people to bid.
That, obviously, doesn't mean you're going to get more money. People are, generally, only going to pay a certain amount for something no matter how long it is up for sale. That's not to say more people won't see it if you leave it up for longer though so you may get lucky.

couple tips: End your auction at the end of the west coast business day for the most prospects. From what I remember reading, it is best to have your auction span a weekend and end on tuesday or thursday. That way, it isn't on friday where people are going out after work, monday, trailing a weekend of spending or on humpday...but people will have been browsing on all other days.
That is true but it does give a few extra days for people to find and keep an eye on the auction. The post above this one has some good info as well.

It's all about ending timing.
You need to think about your audience, where they're at, and what time they'll see your auction. Best bet? Evening + after dinner + Monday or Tuesday.
Nobody's at home on the weekends (Fri - Sun) to bid.
Nobody's infront of a personal PC to bid during work hours.
