Default what is the Acura electical system voltage?

I am looking at a 9" TV/VCR combo from Philips that runs on DC. It says the electrical system must be 13.2 volt, negative ground. I have a 2001 TL. I know it is negative ground, but is the system 12 volt or 13.2 volt????

battery is about 12, alternator should be about 14.4 ( at best)
car voltage fluctuates, so make sure this product can handle varying power voltages

That is what I figured. The philips model is the only one that calls out 13.2 DC. All the other brands say 12V DC in the specs. I'll just steer clear of the philips model.....

its made to run on a car electrical system... it is made to handle the slight variances.

it's fine they just write that on there in case you need a 120 volt adapter. 13.8 is the reccommended adapter. i have a 2001 TL also and with my passport 8500 having a voltage display on ti the car is almost always at 14.2 volts. but for some reason when you turn the AC off it will be closer to 13.8- 14.0 wierd...

When you kick the A/C on it runs the engine at a slightly higher RPM, so the alternator is gonna make a little more power.

no it does this while driving the car is not ideling.
i think the regulator has to see a certain amount of load for it to run the higher voltage or somthing. but i knwo it has nothing to do with the rpm
