This question is for all the Si owners on here. personally i have never owned a honda or even a 4 cyl for that matter. i have had an srt-6 crossfire, a 5.7 L Charger, and right now iam driven a 07 crossfire. i have been lookin around for a new car recently and i have really fallen in love with the new civic si. what do you think about it. is it quick. i have narrowed it down to the gti and si. and i was just hopin you guess that own si would let me know what you think about your car.

Go drive the cars.
For the displacement and lack of forced induction, yes the Si is quick.
But the power delivery is entirely different from the SRT6 or the Charger.

If you are truly hooked on off-the-line power, I'd wager that the GTi may be more your style. But go drive em both first.

The new GTI drives awesome.
But I'd advise you run as fast as possible away from any VW/Audi product.
Reliability sucks.
I currently own an 02 GTI with the VR6. Awesome torquey engine and absolutely great road feel.
However, I've already gone thru 2 AC compressors, 2 air bag sensors, and now have a non working speedometer. Plus, I have intermittent starting problems. Granted, I have 130K miles on it.
But I've never had any of these problems in the various Hondas and Toyotas I've owned.
As a matter of fact, my next car will be a Civic Si

Gti for sure,
it has more top end power that the v tec si and has more style.

They're pretty damn slow.

I drove one after my car was totalled, and they're both gorgeous looking and sounding, but it lacks torque like whoa.

 

The Si is a very different car from your Redline. You went from a driving a FI car to a driving a NA honda engine. I wouldn't say the torque output is horrible but regardless of that the Si is still relatively quick and a very enjoyable car.

You're absolutely correct.

There's about 100 ft lbs of torque difference, which was quite noticable in my opinion.

For the size of engine, it is kind of quick, and you definitely can't argue against it putting out 100hp per litre. That's hard to come by these days.
