Default my phone went through the wash...

I dont want to buy a new phone so im going to try and beat the system.

It wasnt me who did it. my little brother did it on accident. hes 11 obviously he cant do anything about it.

My 2 year contract is up in AUG. Hopefully i can get a refurbished one for 50$ or so.

if i can i plan on telling them ill cancel my service and go to verizon. i dont want to go to verizon but i will if i have to spend 300$'s on a new phone.

any advice?

take it apart put it in a bowl of rice and let it dry out for a few days. i sent my phone in after it had been in a hot tub for a good 15 minutes. The moisture detection stickers had changed and everything. The screen was all fogged over too. I took it in and said it didn't work anymore and they sent it in and i got a new one the next day. It's worth a try.

in the future phone insurance ftw.

I've heard of people using a bowl of uncooked rice... also small pasta. Anything that's would soak up moisture well.

I wouldn't pay for the insurance though.... that's pretty much a straight rip.

Soaking it in Alcohol and then putting it in Kitty litter.

Have you ever noticed grains of rice in salt shakers at restaurants? The rice absorbs moisture and keeps the salt from clumping together.

If you're using T-mo or AT&T, just get a prepaid phone for like 30 bucks, pop your SIM in it and use it til you could upgrade or switch.
