Default Well, finally visited the strip for the first time, and well :\

first trip ever to any drag strip today (carlsbad) not much i can say as far as the cars over there, they were all SWEET !
only got in 3 runs, before it got real packed with cars.....maybe next week

Run #1:

60FT: 2.764
330FT: 7.068
1/8ET: 10.437
1/8MPH: 73.04
1/4ET: 15.807
1/4MPH: 90.77

(just dropped the clutch at 3k) h:

Run #2

60FT: 2.989
330FT: 7.519
1/8ET: 10.942
1/8MPH: 72.14
1/4ET: 16.392
1/4MPH: 85.90

(no comment here, heh)

Run #3 -> Best of the day (yet the machine went dead and only got 1/4 ET and MPH)

15.090@92.33mph

now my question judging by the 60ft's and the mph on the best run, whats my car 'capable' of? and how did i fare?

still a newbie when it comes to the drag strip obviously, and alot to be learned, but hopefully with some time, ill fare somewhat decently

thanks for listening

Ok every tenth you drop off of the 60 foot, equals about 2 tenths in the quarter. So with your 15.8 with a 2.7 60 foot, if you pulled a 2.2 which is doable on decent street tires, that'd put you at about a 14.8 or so. Should be able to pull that. However, Carlsbad is one of the worst tracks I have ever seen, I'll never go there.

Ive never been to the strip but Id work on reaction time. From the few launches ive done Ive found that the beginning of a race is the most important. Getting traction is too. I sill havent figured out where to rev to. I dont race much I guess.

B18C powered hatches (your gen, in particular) should be running low-mid 14s. Best I've seen out of a i/h/e B18c hatch is a 14.3.

Just work on your launch. I don't know how high above sea level you are, but naturally that effects times.

I'm mid to low 14's myself. My friend busted out a 14.1 in a dx hatch with street tires lower pressure.

There is only one thing to learn when racing a Honda in the 1/4 mile. Launch. Good launch = good run. Crappy launch = crappy run.

Just practice every other night at a dead stop. You'll get into a groove, and you should be set.

I had almost the exact same 60ft times and I was pulling a 15.3, I couldn't feather my clutch at all. I checked it afterwards and noticed my clutch fluid was COMPLETELY EMPTY!!

Next time, I hope to put up some better #'s.
