What's up everyone & Happy New YR. I was talking to a neighbor yesterday . He have a 93 EX coupe 5 spd. He had a busted windshield & dented hood. He was stating he's going to rebuild the sohc motor & buy another oem steel hood.He claim it's his baby.
So we got to taliking & now I convinced on a carbon fiber hood & a swap.

I convinced him on a JDM B16. I doubt he's going LSD. I mentioned a B18C/GSR motor until the price. I've also mentioned he'll still be happy w/ the B16 although not as much tq.
Now, I told him about the guy who did my swap. He's going to need axles,mounts, I wasn't sure about linkage, motor,tranny,ecu. Would he need a linkage also?
Sorry, little long. Just breaking it down. He wanted to know w/ the B16 if he took it took the track would he be a 14 sec. or low 15 sec. car . I wasn't sure about a coupe. Any advice I can give him he would appreciate . Thanks

 

yes! you would need the shift linkage from a B-series tranny.
I say high 15's with that set up.

 

I'll let my buddy know. It'll still be a little improvement over the sohc vtec motor.

 

everyone has a "friend" that has a certain car, but I did have a college friend with a close to stock b16a in his 94 civic coupe run 14.6 at pomona.

he put down 153 at the wheels on a dynojet

 

my 95 coupe ran a 14.7 :dunno: though it had barely any interior except front seats and a dash.
