hi my friends drivers door doesnt open from the outside of the car, only the inside.. after he scraped against a pole. how can i help him fix it? will he need a new outside door handle?

more than likely yes. the clip that holds the rod that pulls the lock to open probably broke.

he'll have to take the door panel off and raise the window up all the way and inspect it. once u do that, u can easily figure out what part broke just by looking at it.

or the rod could have just came out of the clip w/o breaking it. u'll have to open it up first.

if the part is broken where would i be able to find the part? or would i be able to make one possibly?

 

junk yard, this clip is usually used in many different parts. when u take off ur door panel and remove the inside handle, u'll see it behind it also.
