i had a 1991 rover 216 gti SOHC and really loved it nut i wana go further and put a vtec engine in it, which sort of engine fits best and what additional work apart from the engine swap is required? iv looked on loads of websites and cant find a straight answer. thanks alot. Dan

 

sorry man we don't even have Rover over here in the states which is where most of our members hail from.

 

I've never heard of anyone doing this swap. I'm guessing you're looking at a totally custom engine swap, which will take a skilled fabricator and a lot of money. Not worth it for either of the engines you listed.

 

hi, i have same car as u and the same idea, wanted to do it for ages, but i cant find any one that has done this which is making it hard, my friend that owns a garage has told me it should not be to hard. but i need to find out what drive shafts i will need? will i need to change them? are the engine mounts on the d16a7 and the b16a in the same place roughly?

 

I just have a ? What the heck is a Rover 216. Never heard of one.
