Default how should i run my components and 6x9's? bridging questions..

i have the sony deck with 52x4.., i was thinkin if i bridge those and ran the components off the deck, then i could just bridge the 320w amp i have in the back and run only the 6x9's off of that.. the components are 150w max and the 6x9's are 300w max.

would that make it louder, rather than just having the deck go straight to the amp and having both 6x9's and components off of it?

well i ran my 6x9s off my deck and my amp on my components. personally id say the amp to the components if they are good ones. components usually sound better then 6x9s if they are good.

but since ive done that i can barely hear my 6x9s now. im just going to buy another sep amp for those and have 3 amps total.

not familiar with them. but you can do it with your 6x9's if you want. whatever is connected to the amp will be louder. the other will be...well...there

I don't think you can bridge your deck because they aren't meant to be bridged. Just run both the components and the 6x9's off of the amp. It should be fine.

What kind of amp are you using by the way?

Don't bridge your deck, that's silly really.

Use an amp to push the components, if they're a decent set, they'll run circles around any 6x9 pair. A good amp is keen here.

I think there are some misconceptions here:

1. You can't bridge a headunit....first and foremost.

2. You are misinterpreting the specifications on your amps and your speakers....take a second look at all of them...where you see "MAX" next to a spec....cross it out, and find the corresponding "RMS" or "continuous" number...that's the value you should always look at.

3. Your head does NOT make 52 x 4. Take a look at the fuse rating on the head, and the size of the power lead....then take a look at it's size. By those calculations, it's a "200 W amp." See if it's 2/3rd of the size of your external amp...I'm betting it's quite a bit smaller while at the same time it incorporates a CD player, tuner, EQ, some silly screen savers, etc, etc....the only way that head can make 52W per channel is if it gets hit by lightning or it's being driven very far into distortion.

Now I'm not saying your head is bad, it's just a common misconception (and great false advertising) that headuniits actually put out what's printed on the face plate. It's sorta like going to the computer show and buying a set of 300W computer speakers for $10 and they only weigh 3lbs each.....

My suggestion....run the components off the amp, then run the 6*9's off the headunit.

yeah run the components off the amp and 6x9's off the deck and buy another amp later for the 6x9's if your not happy with the sound.
