Default 2003 Accord EX sedan trunk leakage

This is my first visit here so I apologize if this has been covered. I did a search and only came across 98coupev6's thread for accord TSB's that has gone down in flames. I am trying to track down the location of a water leak that is allowing water to drip into the trunk of my Accord.

The water was/is dripping from the perforated steel cross member reinforcement channel between the speakers and trunk lid gasket. The leak seems to be worse on the right side, might be from parking on a cross-slope. I cannot see or feel any leakage on the rear shelf or around the rear speakers.

This leakage is not from opening the trunk and having the water running off the trunk lid and into the trunk. I have also looked through the '03-'05 Service Manual but have not come up with any potential culprits except maybe the rear drain tubes for the sunroof? I could not decipher any NHTSA generated TSB's for my problem either.

I know to check by getting in the trunk and having someone run a hose around the outside to try and discover the point of entry.

Anybody know of a problem or TSB concerning this to save me some time and headaches? I can get in the trunk but at 6'-2" it's a tight fit.

I appreciate any help on this. The car is scheduled to go the dealer on 4/20 and any information I could get before would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue. Its comes in from the top of the truck near the rear window. Mine came in on the driver side corner. There is a small hole in the channel that the water would pass though, once it got pass the trunk seal.

A new truck seal, fixes this.

Thanks. I will investigate around the seal and channel for the hole.
