Default New turbo up and running, but I have a question

Just got everything done with the turbo, but it doesn't seem to make power untill up in the high RPMs. Is this normal with a t3/t4 turbo on a b18b at 7psi? I hear the blow off working when I let off at about 4K, but I don't feel the turbo working up to that point? I haven't really gotton on it since I'm running the fuel management that came with the kit ( Hondata, Fuel pump, and injectors will be put in next week) and don't want to hurt it. A friend of mine retarded the timing a little for me, just to try and make sure I don't lean out, would this be hurting my felt power? Turbonetics directions say to keep factory timing, but Everyone I talked to said if your worried about leaning out, retard it a little. I think it would hurt power a little, but I didn't think I would be able to feel it since I am still turbo and haven't felt it with timing advanced yet? Any opinons would be great, Thanks, Ramsey.

get a boost gauge and see where you start making boost. what are the specs on the turbo?

Wait until you get it tuned properly.

Sounds like the people you are talking to are idiots. Ignition timing has very little effect on air fuel ratio. I would put the timing back where the instructions specified.

I am not; however, responsible for any damages caused from this advice. h:
My recommendation is to stop driving like a maniac until you get it tuned if you expect it to last at all.

I'm not driving hard right now, just playing with it. Just found out my new radiators leaking. Hopefully it can be fixed since It's less than a month old.
