Default Integra 92 ls part swap

I drive a 92 Integra LS and i have heard that you can swap parts from the GSR to the LS with no problems...is this true? I thought that the GSR was a 1.7, and since the ls is a 1.8 will the parts fit? I have heard stories of people swapping cams, heads, etc etc...i have also heard that doing these part swaps gives you some considerable horsepower gains...i am pretty much looking to see if anyone has ever done this, if it is possible.

only way you can swap a cam is if you bring the head with it... The LS is a non vtec engine.... GSR is a vtec, having 3 cam lobes... it will not fit into the LS head... Everything but the engine should swap over fine though

only the 92-93 gsr had a b17a. everything from 94+ had a b18c1.

things that can be swapped from a b17 to your b18a:

- head and everything that goes along with it (with proper preperation)
- pistons
- tranny
- header

things that cannot:

- crank and rods (unless you want to majorly destroke your engine)

yes there was a Vtec version... It was the 92 GSR... and you need to specify what parts you want to swap... some do and some dont....

you can swap pistons and tranny. anything like cams, you would need an entire vtec head.

free hp? remove ac and ps belts. that will "free" up power being taken to drive those components. doing some weight reduction also helps.

search for lsvtec. you'll find more than enough info.

I reccomend reading up alot on LS/vtec if you are considering it... It involves a lil bit of work...
